Ohm … relax … don’t sweat it

Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff

Today I was once again reminded of an amazing book series I read and would highly recommend to anyone called Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff. As I’m getting myself ready for our date-day out, I observed the stress and anxiety of another family member go through the roof. Lol, no it wasn’t hubby.

But in front of me I saw the old Degree commercial unfold … you know, the one where the person gets more and more riled up, in this case preparing for company to arrive. Quick shower, house cleaning and at each step getting more aggravated. Finally I interjected and said, “What’s all the fuss about?” The answer I got was trying to impress someone whose never been over. In my strange little way I turned and said, “Those who know me, know me well. Those who don’t can go to hell.” Not that I wouldn’t take the same actions but I just don’t see the sense in stressing over it. After all I’m sure a real friend wouldn’t care about all the tiny details. They’d be coming to relax and enjoy. You should be doing the same both before and during. Getting frazzled just leads to exhaustion and a feeling of blah-ness. Personally I’d rather enjoy. Just saying. 😉
